The Airmax series of optical sights has been developed for use with air guns at a hunting or shooting range or for sporting events. The design of the Airmax enclosures implies not only overall high strength and water resistance, but also special protection against double recoil, unique to airguns. They withstand the deformation from the shots using pneumatic bullets of 5.5 mm, 6.35 mm, 9 mm.
The Airmax optical system is designed to produce the high resolution image needed for target shooting. All sight lenses are coated with a 16-layer anti-reflective coating, due to which high brightness and clarity of the image is achieved without glare. The Airmax has a 3-9×40 wide view for its zoom set. It is ideal for pneumatics.
The design of the correction drum implies free use on the hunt. They are small in size for more streamlined silhouette when moving through thickets and have protective covers for increased reliability. Each turn of the drum makes 15 MOA corrections. After zeroing it is possible to install a new zero.
All moving parts of the sight are made ergonomic for convenience and maximum adjustment accuracy in field conditions. The control unit of multiplicity is rubberized and has a ribbed design. It is designed in such a way that small strokes and high recoil could not make undesirable changes to the zoom setting. The same applies to the parallax error correction node, which is integrated in the objective lens for adjusting the sharpness of the aiming grid at any distance.
The sight uses an AMX grid located in the second focal plane (that is, its size does not change with increasing or decreasing magnification). This is a modification of the world famous “Mil-Dot” mesh. It helps to calculate the distance to objects, to adjust the fire, to take accurate corrections at any distance and anticipation when moving the target. The grid has many additional marks to simplify the work with pneumatic bullets rapidly falling at a distance and their loop-shaped flight paths. The main grid step is 1 Mil (between points). The same size of the empty segments of all stumps. Transverse lines on the vertical axis divide the corresponding segments in half. The total width of these lines is 0.33, 1, 2, 3, and 4 Mil (from top to bottom). The diameter of the dots is 0.75 mil.
