Panorama riflescopes are designed to provide the shooter with a good overview and possibilities for slow shooting at medium distances, while maintaining a compact and slim profile. Nodes settings are made without protruding parts, correction drums are closed with lids to reduce the risk of damage.
The optical system Panorama is designed to obtain the high resolution image needed for target shooting. All sight lenses are coated with a 16-layer anti-reflective coating, due to which high brightness and clarity of the image is achieved without glare.
Hawke Panorama 3-9×40 is completely waterproof and protected from dust. The internal cavities of the sight are treated with dried nitrogen, which prevents the formation of condensation on the lenses from the inside with a sharp change in ambient temperature. Anodized scratch-resistant coating is applied to the case. Panorama optical sights are designed for use in conjunction with light pneumatic or ammunition of average recoil energy (for example, 7.62 mm or .308).
The choice of such a detailed reticle by the developers of Panorama makes the entire series a natural choice for pest hunters. An expanded overview is intended to facilitate the task of tracking small, fearful goals.
The sight uses a fully illuminated 10x Half Mil-Dot grid located in the second focal plane (that is, its size does not change with increasing or decreasing magnification). There are five degrees of backlight brightness. The choice of the backlight color – blue or red – may depend, for example, on the degree of illumination due to cloudy weather or time of day. The mesh is used in warming and precision target shooting. The abundance of marks on the grid is very useful for use with air guns (due to the particular flight path of the pneumatic bullets). Its fundamental difference from the Mil Dot is the main grid step of 0.5 Mil (1.72 MOA; this is the distance between any adjacent marks on the axes). The size of the empty hemp segments is 1×0.5 Mil, while the first segment is crushed in increments of 0.2 Mil.
